Youth Advocacy Forum – A Project of Pakistan Youth Parliament

Lahore, May 29, 2025 — The Youth Advocacy Forum (YAF), an initiative by the Pakistan Youth Parliament, celebrated a major milestone with the Oath-Taking Ceremony of its inaugural cabinet at the Lahore High Court Conference Hall. This groundbreaking youth-led legal platform is designed to empower law students, young legal professionals, and youth from Political Science, International Relations, and allied fields to engage in legal advocacy and civic leadership in Pakistan.

The event was led by Justice (R) Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa, who attended as Chief Guest and Oath Administrator. Administering the oath to the newly appointed cabinet members, he expressed his admiration for the initiative:

> “It is heartening to witness a new generation stepping forward to uphold justice and rule of law. Youth like you are the future defenders of our Constitution and social equity.”

Mr. Abdul Rehman Ranja, Vice President of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, emphasized the importance of youth-driven legal activism:

> “Legal literacy is the need of the hour, and empowering youth with advocacy tools is a crucial step toward a just society.”

Mr. Mohammad Sheikh Ali, Advocate Supreme Court, commended the Pakistan Youth Parliament for launching YAF:

> “When legal education meets youth-led action, real change begins. This initiative will nurture future lawyers, lawmakers, and human rights defenders.”

Mr. Muhammad Abubakar, President and Founder of the Pakistan Youth Parliament, shared the broader vision of the platform:

> “Youth Advocacy Forum is not just a club—it is a mission to empower, educate, and elevate youth voices in legal and civic matters. We envision a Pakistan where youth are not only aware but are active drivers of positive change.”

Mr. Akif Rasool, President of the Youth Advocacy Forum, addressed the forum’s goals:

> “We believe that informed and passionate youth can play a transformative role in ensuring justice and upholding constitutional values. YAF is committed to building legal capacity and fostering a sense of civic responsibility among our members.”

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to outstanding members and volunteers and the presentation of commemorative shields to esteemed guest speakers for their contributions to youth legal empowerment in Pakistan.

This momentous event marks the beginning of a long-term movement to engage Pakistani youth in legal reform, constitutional literacy, and access to justice. With the launch of the Youth Advocacy Forum, the Pakistan Youth Parliament continues to lead efforts for democratic youth engagement, legal education, and public service in Pakistan.
